brake fluid/oil

Hi guys,

I am changing my oil and brake fluid. I had mobil1 and ATE racing brake fluid. Are there any other brands that are better and what are they?

I'll save you some trouble searching and digging through a million threads for your answers.

For oil, you might want to go with Castrol Syntec 5W-40.

For brake fluid, it depends on how you plan to use the car, but you may want to consider Motul RBF600, or go all out on some top tier Castrol SRF.

Hope this helps...

Do you track your boxster? If not do not bother with ATE racing fluid it as a much shorter hygroscopic life span (45-60 days) versus a more common DOT 5 fluid (like Castrol SRF) which should be replaced once a year.
And, personally, I'll be jumping off the Mobil1 bandwagon in favor of Castrol Syntec.

thanks for the help. I do track my car about once a month and only use it about once a week in general.
