PSM Failure - 2006 Boxster S - Help Please

Posted in General Discussion but have received no replies so thought that I would post here. Hope this is OK mods.

Have 2006 Boxster S that sat for a few months and the battery went dead. Pulled out the unit, charged it, would take almost full charge but would not retain it. Brough it to the auto parts store to confirm death and yes, the poor guy had passed away due to cell failure.

Installed a replacement Die Hard, hooked up, inserted key, ran through start up cycle, started car and it worked fine. EXCEPT that the PSM FAILURE message comes up and the orange triangle noting PSM problems is lit. Tried holding the PSM button down to no effect. Also, the SPORT button will not allow me to activate the sport in the sport/chrono option.

Would like some DIY help if possible as I really don't want to bring it to the dealer to solve this prolem.

Is there anything that I am doing wroing?

Is ther anything that I can do in my garage?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Bubley

PSM Failure

Answered my own question and fixed problem.

Checked all fuses - all OK.

Decided to take car for a drive, as soon as I reached about 15mph the PSM "off" light came on. I then pressed it - the off indicator light went out and the triangle in the instrument cluster and the notification of PSM Failure went out.

Tried operating the "sport" mode and it now came on.

All is well.

Something to file away in the data vault when replacing batteries.

Bugley.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm....this is completely normal. The PSM failure light comes on when the battery is disconnected, and then goes off again after a few min. of driving (or you can clear it with the appropriate system, PSTII/PIWIS/Durametric)....
