Sure if you want to spend $40k for it, feed it race fuel, and rebuilt it every 100 hours.....

I want to use this for my engine swap in my boxster project:

http://www.motortrend.com/features/112_0802_audi_clean_diesel_engine/photo_07.html

or see attatchment.

this audi diesel v8 has 326 hp, 569lb-ft of trq and only weighs 500lbs, and measures a mere 520 mm(20 in) in length with integrated power steering and water pump driven off of the timing chain.

Race fuel? It's a diesel. Rebuilt one for around $8000.

Was referring to the RST motor, NOT the Audi TDi.

Who exactly is rebuilding the 4.2 TDi motors, considering they aren't sold in the states in any Audi cars?

I thought it was available in the q7 now. If not then the 3.0 v6 diesel is. it weighs only 425 lbs, 11 lbs lighter than a 3.2 boxter s motor and has 240hp and 406lb-ft of torque from 1700-2500 rpm. and is quite compact at only 17 inches long. it may be taller though, due to having the turbo mounted in the vee.

the conpactness[is that a word?] would leave some room to maybe put in an ECVT(electric continuously variable transmission, and with the two trunks, some high discharge rate LiIon batteries assisted by some old fasioned capacitors to make for some interesting accelleration when needed.

4.2tdi

What kind of car/SUV did you work on with a 4.2TDI? Are there some 4.2 TDIs out there to be had for swapping? did you search for a used replacement as an alternative to rebuilding?
