Stebro muffler, will it fit!?
Hey guys!
I received this STEBRO muffler from a buddy of mine who never put it on his car. I have a '97 2.5 and am unsure if it will fit...the mounts appear to be different, maybe its just made for the 2.7 3.2? http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l4...451exhaust.jpg |
That is made for 2.7 or 3.2, but you can still make it work if you add a mounting kit which you can order at a dealer (not cheap tho, as it's over $100), or fabricate something yourself to adapt it.
I wouldn't bother though...the Stebro exhibits a lot of annoying drone, and you might want to pull it off after a week. At least that's what I've read about it. |
does anyone but PORSCHE make a mount? Has anyone fabbed anything up themselves? Help, thanks 986 friends...

Here's the full adapter kit, but you can probably make it work by just getting the top bar with the two cylinders on the sides where the threaded studs from the stebro muffler will thread into. On top of each cylinder (which are really vibration dampeners), you use an Allen key to secure the stud from the muffler. You can either fabricate a top bar yourself, or find a used one off a wrecked 00-04 Boxster at a dismantler.
