Front and Rear hood release levers

The front and rear hood release levers do do not work on my 1999 Boxster. They just do not move , they are stuck. The battery is new so that is not causing the problem.Does anyone have any ideas ?

Try pressing the unlock button on the key or the dashboard.

Damn - I remember seeing something about this, but I can't remember when or where. Age is a terrible thing, but on the plus side I can hide my own Easter eggs and I meet new friends every day!

Checked the owners manual?

So you lock and unlock the doors with the key and the trunks won't unlock?

Thats about it.The doors are not a problem but the levers seem to be stuck, they just do not move.I recently replaced the battery could that have done something electrical to them and caused the problem ?
