Keyless entry programming issue. Please help

I bought a used key off of ebay that has the keyless entry buttons on it. It is the right key for the right year. I made sure of that. I want to prgram just the keyless entry portion of the key for now. but i will have it recut a prgrammed at a later date. Can you help me program just the kyless entry? Thank you

I believe you have to visit a dealer or someone with a PIWIS to reprogram it. Not as simple as Fords, Chevy, etc. where you just insert the key and turn on/off three times and chant...

Being used you may be out of luck. Unless it came with an accompanying id tag it can't be (re)programmed.

here (97-00) and here (01-04) are links to new remotes that come with the id tag that is needed for programming to give you an example.
