roof latch hits windstop glass on 01 986

My convertible roof works great on my boxster with the exception of the center latch hitting the windstop glass on the way down. It just touches. What do I need to adjust?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are three bolts at each side of the base of the convertible top frame at the bottom of the B-pillars. To get to those bolts, you first put your top in service position. Look up how to do that in your owners manual if you don't know how.

Loosen (but don't fully remove) those bolts on each side, and then have a friend pull the whole top as far back as possible (towards the back of the car), while you retighten the bolts on each side. That will make the latch clear the windstop.

Another minor top issue to watch for

Yesterday, my passenger side vanity mirror cover was somehow left open. The top was put up and latched and I noted a glow at roof level. (luckily it was night and dark). The mirror cover was jammed between the top and window frame!!!!!!!!!!
I released it and somehow it was OK. Something to watch out for.

No Problem

After opening the top about ten inches I simply close the latch, then continue putting the top down. That keeps mine from hitting the plexiglass.

Hi,

I know this is a old post, But I'm having this problem right now.

Could someone please post a picture of which bolt I need to loosen and pull the top back ?

Thank you.
