Ignition key Removal
 

Goddmorning everyboby,
i would like your advice. I own a 987 YM2006. I have noticed lately that once a while i dont know what i'm doing wrong when i turn the engine off and try to remove the key off the ignition it wont let me pull it out and it keeps it in for about 55 seconds. Read the manual couldnt find anything written down. If anybody has had this problem please let me know whats wrong and what should i do.

Usually a bad starter (Ignition) switch. Easy, cheap fix.

thanks guys i will look into it and have it replaced. it looks simple though. surprised since i only have 15K on the car.

I had this problem the other day, got an Audi ignition switch from Euro Car Parts for £10 and it took me about 45mins to change. Its a bit of a pain trying to get to the screws but worth it. Check out Pedro's site for a guide and part no.

This happend to me, i used the audi replacement and worked fine. Funny thing was the key was sticking and one day the key would come out but the car would not turn off.

thanks u all. i will check into it. the problem here in greece is that the dealership is on mainland greece ,way to far for me , plus to expensive. DIY if its easy is the best. My only consern before i order the part is that could it be something else since the ignition "kicks" out the key automaticaley after about 50 seconds plus it doew the "clunk". i was reading some threads , they had a problem with no "clunk' at all. Thanks once again
