Schnell Front Brace Interference

I've read about fitment issues around the battery, but I have a different problem - on the passenger side just behind the strut tower is an aluminum tube with a black screw-on cap that interferes with where the passenger bracket goes. Looks like air conditioner tubing? I'm not sure, but I know I can't move it.

Did anyone else have this problem? Is there a workaround?

Working from just the passenger bracket and adding pieces as I went towards the driver bracket, I was able to make everything fit. I am up against the battery and heater hoses...there is amazingly little free clearance under there!

An initial test drive last night on my everyday road showed a significant improvement in front end rigidity, particularly in curves where I have one wheel hit something like a utility lid that wasn't set flush with the road.

Absolutely love it! My car has 55K miles, M30 suspension, and we have rather mediocre roads here - it has made a huge difference in the apparent rigidity and has significantly reduced the small creak noises that I find very distracting.

Before buying my 986 I drove a couple of 987s - while I prefer the interior and exterior of the 986, the one thing I really appreciated about the 987 was it's enhanced rigidity (it also had more legroom, but I fit OK in the 986 at the limit of the seat travel). I no longer envy the rigidity...though I suppose that could return if I drove another 987 back-to-back.
