I'm of the opinion, and my dyno results back this up, that there is power to be gained through the right headers, exhaust and software. Is it worth the money it costs to "do it right?" Probably not. In the end, however, I think it's worth noting that even if the car gained nothing, many people do enjoy and appreciate a different sounding exhaust on their car, and if that makes them happy, then that's all the assurance they need.
