Porsche Audio System

If anyone can answer any of these questions I would appreciate it.

Please help with a few questions in regards to the radio and possible addition of CD changer for a 2003 Boxster.
Radio CDR23- 6611

Questions:
1. To add a CDC-4, is there any programming required with "Dealer Type Equipment such as the PIWIS?"

2. Does CDC-4 control and audio go through the fiber optic cable to the CCDR23?

3. Are the fiber optic cable connectors "ST" connectors?

4. Is there a way to input an I-pod or similar mp3 player into the CDR23-6611? and oviously select the I-pod as an input.

Thanks for your help

I added the CDC-4 to my 04 boxster. I purchased the changer cheap thru e-bay and found that was the cheap part of the install, and I did it myself. To answer your questions:
1) Yes, the dealer, or somebody with a PST2 or Piwis will need to "enable" it to work.
2) Yes, it is part of the MOST bus system (fiber optic), the cable thru the dealership was approx. $250 and that was thru Sunset. If I had known that I probably would not have bought the CDC-4 ($150) . You will also need the power harness ($30), the mounting brackets ($40) if you don't already have them, and the molex pins to connect it properly(cheap).
3) Don't know, After finding the price of the factory fiber loop, I tried to find a connector that would match up and was unsuccessful so I broke down and bought factory.
4) Need to get the "Dice" or "Dension Gateway 500" systems which are $400- $500 to work right. You can do it with an FM modulator setup, but sound quality will be less.

Hope this helps. There is a Porsche TSB you can download @ Renntech.org if you are a contributing member. It will give all pinouts needed with detailed instructions. Good luck
