Super charge or not. 2.5L

Im still new to the whole car thing but i've heard of a super charger for 2.5l. Is this true? I also thought that there was no way in hell that my 98 would survive such a change and that the engine would blow up. I sure like the idea of super charging my box. Is it possible to do it and run it on a low boost? (whatever that meens)

if you arent sure what forced induction is (turbo charge, and super) then it is better to do some HW about it first so you can understand the risks invovled and make an educated decision. It is very possible to turbo or supercharge these motors on a low boost setup. however, there are longevity risks that go along with it.

Do you have any good resources where I could get familiar with the turbo's and super chargers? I was planning to find out if it was capable and then see what I need to do to make sure my engine will be alright.

I did the supercharger on my 2.5...... Now I have a 3.4 the supercharger was a waste of time and money. Don't waste your time and money. My .02

It's somewhat dated now, but is still an excellent resource for anyone interested: "Maximum boost," by Corky Bell. Probably on the shelf at your local Barnes and Noble or Borders.

To upgrade to a 3.2 isn't that like around 12k after everything?
I fig. I could get a supercharger for maybe 4k.

Sc and turbos

I have done the SC and now twin turbos.

My thoughts:
1st choice would be to do a 3.4 swap
next do the twin turbos turbowerx.com

SC skip it.

What are you trying to achieve with your notion

of adding the supercharger?

I've had 3 mid-engine Porsches...one 85HP, one 201HP and one 248HP. Can't say one was any more fun than the other. Got more tickets in the 85HP one.

But if you want to go faster...a guide page listing the options ishere

I agree. My car flys with stock 2.5 liter motor at 2100 lbs.
