Backfiring while engine is cold
I live in the Bay Area(so we're talking 40 degrees cold), and since my battery died (due to a month of vacation) a few weeks back, my car has not been driving well while the engine is cold. It is hesitating, keeping a low idle, and backfiring occasionally. From using the search function, I'm beginning to guess the MAF needs cleaning or replacing. Does anyone want to help a brotha out?

i,m not a po pro but the throttle body can/may have a system call idle air bypass this gives you fast idle...see if your scan tool can monitor its position when cold...they can get "coked up"

Doesn't feel right; but it's not a problem when I let it warm up... |
but alls fine when hot...so i,m leaning [pun intended] toward being lean ...like no inrichment aka cold start injector [if ap] cold motors need to be a little more rich...old days using a choke

You also may have a coil pack going bad.
