Removing Cylinder head oil pump for inspection
Hi everyone,
In hopes of diagnosing my mystery engine squeak that's coming from this area, I am thinking of removing the bank #2 oil pump at the front of the cylinder head to look inside for any issues, and also to spin engine with starter (no ignition of course) and maybe spray some lube in to see if that changes anything.
Questions:
Can I just pop this off ( using these instructions, fig. 4), poke around inside and replace?
Also, I don't see any harm with turning motor over w/o oil, as it had oil a couple days ago and I wouldn't be firing it up. Do you?
