Sieb fluid system tube- fell off today???

I was trying to find the drain holes under the top today and I also checked the oil level. The dipstick was tough to get back in, but it finally went.

Just moved the car and found a small tube, 1/4 inch in diameter, about 6 inches long on the ground under where the car was.

Any idea what this tube may be for and if I am safe to drive without it in place for a while?

Thanks.

I hope you didn't just poke that oil fill tube out from underneath the car when you were trying to jam it back in. Lol.

There are 3 pieces to the oil fill tube, and what you describe could be the middle piece?

The oil filler tubes do tend to crack, probably due to heat cycling and the engine moving around while the tube is fixed to the trunk compartment. I'm sure failing motor mounts make it even worse.
