Aftermarket intermittent wiper switch?
Hi, all.
Just bought an aftermarket intermittent wiper delay switch, and installed it. The wipers work exactly as before. No delay. Mine is a 2000 Boxster with the two speed wipers, fast or slow. Does anyone know if the kit requires factory intermittent wipers to work? Anyone install this and have any tips for me? Here's the link: http://www.jewelsforcars.com/shop/view_product.php?product=ELM1 |
I would think you need the stalk down in the intermittent position, and then adjust the potentiometer, where i guess fully anticlockwise is as previous, and turning clockwise reduces the time between wipes.
You can do without the potentiometer and just install the VW/Audi/Skoda relay for about $35. You then set the time interval by moving the stalk in a sequence, the timing of which 'programs' the interval until the stalk is returned to neutral again. |
VW/Audi/Skoda relay
Do you have any more information on how to do this? I've had this sort of "programmable" system in other cars, and it works great. If all I have to do is swap out a relay, then that'd be a much preferable option for me.
