Headlight Assembly Gasket

Does anyone know if the gasket that surrounds the headlight assembly on a 99 Boxster is available and if so the part numbers or source that sells them. Thank you.

Suncoast

Unless someone comes up with a hot idea quickly, I'd call Suncoast parts at 877-923-1700 and ask them. They've always been able to help me out.

I'm in the same spot you're in and the bad news is that the headlight seals are not sold separately. So when that $10 piece of rubber rots away after ten years like mine did, the nice fella at the dealership says "Sorry, ya gotta buy a new headlight for $1600US" Now, Pelican has the assemblies for somewhere around $400, but even that's a bit much just to get a gasket.

Right now I'm trying to source some good used ones through a wrecker. I've emailed just about every Porsche disassembler on the web and so far they don't have 'em, or won't sell 'em separatey from the lights, or just didn't bother to respond at all. I think about the only way I'll find them is if I locate someone with smashed headlights that still have good seals.

Good luck! Let me know if you locate someone with a stash of them!

Headlamp Gasket

Thanks to everyone for your help. I have not found anyone that sells them but I think they are really more of a cosmetic item than a real gasket as water will just drain out through the bottom of the headlight pan anyway. Mine are getting kind of "gooey" and need replacing but I am not going to buy headlights just for this. I think a black caulk or weatherstrip adhesive might work and not look too bad if done with care.

I found a source in Canada for these seals, if you're still looking:

I have the same goo-ey headlight gasket. Has anyone improvised something?

I did the Steele rubber fix in the attached thread. While not stock, it is light years better than the gooey mess my gaskets were turning into. Actually looks pretty good.

Thanks to Spinnaker!
