Every radio that uses a code (MOST bus radios do not have codes) has a unique code that only works with that radio…………

If you PM me with the serial #, I have the software to decipher the code.

Do you need the serial # of the radio to get me the code?

I also thought that the user could change codes if they wanted. I have a buddy of mine that recently purchased a 99' and has tried all sorts of translated codes that should have worked, but do not. Is there a code that is always, always embeded in the unit no matter what?

Interesting.

Yes, you need the serial #.

To get the serial number, power up the unit and hold down the "TP" button for 10 seconds. The unit will beep once, use the knob to scroll over a few times and you'll see a seven digit number, preceded by a letter - that's the ser.#

Cheers!

I dont have the 2 knob stereo. Is there something else I need to do to get that # for you? My stereo has the up/down buttons on both ends.

You don't have a button marked 'TP'?

Well, if you use a couple radio keys (absent the keys, a couple paperclips may work), you can slide the unit partially out of the console and the ser# is on a sticker on the bottom.

Cheers!

No... the code is hard wired to the chassis. It cannot be changed.

Cheers!

THere should be instructions here for the different radio types.

97 Boxster 02-19-2010 04:57 AM

OK, I am ready to do this but I need HELP. I have looked at the previous link but this does not seem to work. I have the CDR-210 stereo. Serial # is on the back of the faceplate (I think) and so I need to know how to get the code from here. I tried what was on the previous link and could not seem to figure it out. I didnt get home from the airport until 1am and tried it then. Maybe too long of a day or something, but I have the new bracket for behind the airbag so I need to get the code. Thanks in advance to all for your help.

SEND ME THE SERIAL # AND I CAN GIVE YOU THE CODE!

SERIAL # IS ON A STICKER ON THE BOOTOM OR BACK OF THE UNIT!

USE RADIO KEYS OR PAPERCLIPS TO PULL THE UNIT FROM THE CENTER CONSOLE AND PM ME.

Cheers!

Recovering Radio Code

The following online decoder allowed me to recover my radio code without pulling the radio. Very nice!

I tried entering a couple of codes, now my head unit won't even turn on. Is there a special sequence of buttons I need to push?

Thanks,
