Wheel weight, tire sizes

My '01 Boxster S has the 17-inch Porsche wheels and I'm wondering if someone can tell me how much each wheel weighs. I ask because in the future I may purchase a second set of wheels for mounting R-compound tires on and am trying to compare the weights of the stock wheels with those of aftermarket wheels like the Sport Edition Cup 4.

And speaking of R-comps ... I can't seem to find (either at Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct) R-compound tires in the stock sizes (205/50-17 F, 255/40-17 R). What are some alternate sizes (for 17-inch wheels) in which R-comps might be available?

Stock 17s are strong and reasonably light at 19lb (f) and 21.5 (r). Find a takeoff set if you can for a good set of trackies. Most track hounds are running either 225/255 staggered or 255 all around on 4x8.5 rims. I had a set of Mille Miglia Cup II aftermarket wheels which weighed a few lbs more and bent easily. I went back to OEM.
Enjoy the car!

The OEM wheels are generally lighter than their knock-off counterparts.
I also run 17" on street and track tires.
For my stickies I use Victoracers in 225 front and 255 rear on 7" and 8.5" OEM wheels.
The 225s help to dial out a bit of understeer.

You can see the fronts in the middle, sandwiched by the wider rears.
