oil filter investigation

As always when i change oil and filter I cut the oilfilter element open and flat it out on a bench.
This time a lot of small non magnetic pieces was found. Thin pieces about 2mm long.
Should i worry about this? Chain tensioner pads?
Oil ( mobil 1)was changed after 4000miles this time. New oil is Royal purple 10/40
Probably just imagination but engine seemed to run a little bit quieter after exchange.

Can you post pics of what you are talking about?

Were I to go to the trouble of cutting filter open, I'd also send oil sample for evaluation. Not sure where in Sweden!

Not sure what parts are nonmagnetic  , but I think you are right to worry.

After switch from 0-40 M1 to Motul V300 5W-40 I thought my car was quieter at idle also.

The only plastic parts in the engine that I know of are the chain tentioner pads and the plastic seal that covers the IMS berings.

Cnavarro or Jake should have more information regarding the motors.

Pictures most definitely would help, closeups in a macro mode.

I would also suggest dropping the oil sump to see what is collected there as well.

Good idea to have a close look at my filter after every oil change. I failed to do that last time (which was my first). I'll make sure to ask the oil change guy to save it aside for me to analyze.
