Need some advice with top problem

I'm having a bit of a problem with my top operating on my '99 Boxster. It was involved in a car accident last year, which at that point of time the top was working fine. Since then after getting the car back from the body shop, it won't open and close properly. For instance, it might open after trying about an hour, then on other days I could hop right on in, hit the switch and it will open. Other times it will open only a portion of the way then stop, and won't open or close.

The body shop told me that some large amount of water got into the top's motor, but said it wasn't accident related. Is this possible? Is there anything that I might be able to do or check to correct this problem? Or, will I need a new top/ top motor?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Sounds like the body shop is ducking and dodging. Recommend you get an opinion from Porsche service and if possible, go after body shop.

Good luck!
