boxster wont start after filling the tank.

My 00 was having this problem.

everytime I went to fill the tank it would stall and be a pain in the ass to start.
Sometimes it would start after a few min of pumping the pedal.Sometime would have to let it sit for an hour before it would start. However after it starts;it runs and starts fine till the next fill up

Last week I found the problem
My mechanic said one of the 15 or so valves was stuck in the open position.
This casue fuel to be dumped directly on the engine, hence the reason i would not start right off.

I searched the web and could not find anyone talking about the problem so I post this in case the problem happens to some other poor soul.

Appreciate you sharing your problem, but we need a bit more info for this to be helpful. Does the service invoice indicate what your mechanic fixed or replaced?

If not, can you get him to explain it further and then give us an update... thanks.

I don't understand what one stuck intake valve have to do with the engine not starting after filling your tank. If the engine is injected then fuel stops when you turn the engine off and pressing the gas pedal wouldn't do anything either. I am by no means a Porsche mechanic but have worked on cars and trucks to include supervising 2 other mechanics in the military. I guess I just think further information would be helpful.
