Rent/Buy Bearing Puller
I am in Northern VA. I would like to see if anyone here has purchased a wheel bearing puller and would be willing to rent it out, or sell it used for a reasonable fee.

Have you considered Harbon Freight? I've heard they have one that will work and is like $80. The one that Pelican Parts sells for about $280 works perfectly though. That's the one that I purchased earlier this year and it made the job really just so easy. I saw it more as an investment though as I'll certainly have more bearings to do (I just did the rears) and I've got a 911 and 914 that will need bearing replacement sooner or later.... Just food for thought.

I can't imagine doing the work without it. I was disappointed in the somewhat loose instructions on the Bentley. |
Bought the one from Harbor Frieght for 80
Gonna use it tomorrow to replace the front bearings. Looks pretty straight forward. I will post once completed.
BTW, plan to look at the front motor mount too... |
the front mount turns out not too be too difficult, particularly if you follow a good write up from someone else. Boy do those coolant hoses get in the way though.
