Boxster S 6 speed

Hi,

I heard somewhere that the 6 speed on the S is the same transmission used on the 911. Is this true? How do you S owners like this gearbox? I remember reading a review a while back in Road & Track that they thought the S had a tighter feel to the transmission.
I also read that most Boxsters are built in Finland. Is the build quality comparable to the 911?
Thanks.

The 3.2 Boxster S transmission is the same as the 3.4 996. The gearing is also the same even though the 996 has 50 hp more.

The Valmet plant makes good cars from what I have heard.

I never had any complaints about my S with the 6 speed. I thought it was just right.

I also use to have a 968 with a 6 speed. however, I kept going into reverse at traffic lights all the time. Never got out of that habbit :) due to the gears being so close together.
