Replace Engine blower motor
 

Has anyone replaced their engine compartment blower motor? Mine is making a horribly embarrassing noise when it comes on. Sounds like something is hitting the fan blades or the motor bearing is going. I was simply going to order and install a new fan until I saw the price of a new blower motor assembly could cost $300+.

mine was making a loud noise, as the rubbery backing of the insulation had curled down into the fan blades. do an inspection, spin the fan by hand, check for clearance.

Turns out a wire harness made its way into the fan blades. I was likely only a day or two away from the blades rubbing through the wire casing completely and shorting. Taped up everything good and used a cable tie to keep it out of the way.
