Vehicle info from dealer
While I was at the dealer today getting a replacement AOS ($84) and I asked the service department to run my VIN for my options codes. I had the front hood replaced and lost the sticker. The print out I got has a bunch of info that I have a few questions on.
Invoice date 1: 1998-07-06 Invoice date 2: 1998-06-17 New vehicle warranty started on 1998-07-20 And it says that the car is model year 1998. The VIN date code is X which I believe is 99. RennTech's VIN decoder says it is a 1999. The door name plate indicates a June 1998 manufacture date. Do I have a '99? Also, have a A209 Campaign with status 1. I assume that is a recall but can't find what it is. Regards, derb |
Loren over renntech ran my VIN thru the Porsche database and even though my VIN says my car is a '99 the Porsche database says it is actually a '98.
A little odd to say the least. I wonder where else the VIN is on the car to compare to the one on the dash. |
There is one in the front trunk, left cover from the battery cover.
There should be a a slot with a clear plastic window (most are missing that piece over time). Look straight down it and the vin is there. |
