Headlights Don't work
I just replaced a headlight in my 97 boxster and now no headlights work. What gives? It looked like a straight foreword job. I did check the fuses in A 1,2,910.
 |
My guess is that it didn't seat properly in the recepticle. Pull the light and check to see that all the pins on the connector at the back are straight. The recepticle will slide up/down to adjust for changes in the headlight angle so that it can be aimed.
There have been some instances where the refcepticle came lose and people had to remove the inner fender to manually connect the two. It may take a couple tries. If not, possible headlight switch issue or ignition switch. In any event, you'll be getting the DMM out. |
Call me stupid
The left lights still have a problem but the right lights now work. I am used to cars that do not require the key in the ignition to be turned on!
I guess I better not make assumptions about the Porsche. |
Problem solved
The clip or retainer that hold the left connector on the car is missing. Had to order one at rediculous price of $10. Can't drive at night till Tuesday.
