50th Anniversary all-red tail-lights

Has anyone got/ seen these tail-lights in person? I'm stongly considering them but am interested in your opinions. Up here in the frozen wastelands of Canada, there aren't a lot of modded Boxsters to look at (yet! ) so any help before Tuesday (when I'm off to Florida where these lights await...) would be appreciated! BTW I love this dancing guy!

I'm not super crazy about them. I like the Euro style the best with clear over red. It's definately a step up from the ambers though.

I have seen them on a few 2004 special editions my dealer had.

The Euro special edition version does not have them as their rear turn signals must blink amber, and in North America amber or red is ok. Or, so I have been told. The Euro special edition has the clear that started in 2003.

Thought it was strange Porsche would produce a limited number of tail lights for the special edition, North America market.

Suncoast is where I'm going. Thanks for the info and pics, guys. Right now I've got the red/clear set on but the right lens has a chip in it so if I've got to change it anyway, I thought I'd try something a little different.

I think the all red lenses would definately look better on soame colors more than others. I think it's too much red on a red car.

The litronics are great! I upgraded my lights last year and it makes TONS of difference. I would say they were worth every penny. I got my litronics from Suncaost for $1050. I havent found anyone else reputable for less....

I just installed them and I think they look very nice and understated. they tie in nicely with the third brake light.

Exactly which is one of the reasons why I installed them. Other reason was, I didn't want my 986 to look like all thos other red/amber or white/red clones out there.

Good pics. I will admit the first few times I saw the special addition lights I didn’t even notice they were all red because I remember thinking to myself, “Why did this put those normal lights on there, they should have done something different.” I didn’t really give it a second look. Then I saw them for sale on the net and realized I was oblivious. Your first picture really makes the car down right mean looking. It reminds me of that movie "Short Circuit" when Johny-5 got mad and his eyes turned red.

It is my understanding if you upload only one photo it will be displayed. If you upload more than one photo it gives the list view. If you want to display more than one photo at a time, you need to have the pictures located on a web server someplace and only insert links to the photos.

It DOES look mean, like it's gonna back out of the garage and eat your friends! If I get rear-ended I'll have the solace of knowing the last thing the driver sees before impact will likely inspire traumatic nightmares for years to come...grrrr :troll:
