Boxster engine swaps in Mid-Atlantic area

Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend a shop in the Mid-Atlantic region, that has experience swapping M96 engines in Boxsters (e.g, 2.7L -> 3.4L or 3.6L).

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hey Humberto!!

Talk to Taylor Chapman. He's who did mine. Tell him I sent you so he charges you double. =-)

The number at German Auto Group is 703-440-6777. Ask to speak to him. Otherwise, you might not get very far.

PS Are you karting next week?

Thanks for the info, Michael.

I will definitely give Taylor a call...But I wanted to see if I could collect a few other data points for comparison.

Yes, I plan to go Karting next Tuesday. Hope to see you there....!

Cheers,

Humberto-

May be a bit far, but Werkstatt (http://www.werkstattcville.com/)in Charlottesville, VA, has a great setup and the mechanic (Kenny Shreves) is one of the Flying Lizard team mechanics, so he's got plenty of Porsche know-how.

I'd be wiling to work with you as well, we are located in North Georgia.

Or we can make your current 2.7 into a 3.6 with all the updates :-)

One day I'm gonna give my car to Jake and tell him I don't want it back until I have the fastest boxster on the planet with a bullet-proof motor.

So they'll take a Sawza and cut the body off and weld it onto a Corvette frame. Might not quite be factory, but it will blow the doors off any other Boxster on a 1/4 mile!

With something like a conversion there are way too many variables to have any price posted at all.. Its a by the hour job.

I worked along side Stuttgart Motors in Lexington, ky (859) 255-7424 to do my 3.2 to 3.6 swap (7.2 to 7.8 DME) Shawn the tech that did the work is like a brother to me...

Agreed but some will quote a "not to exceed" price after they have done a few.

How many 7.2 TO 7.8 conversions have you done for paying customers?
