Tire Change?

I wanted to replace my wheelcaps today, and I wasn't able to because the guy asked for a key. I couldn't find what he was asking for, can anyone post a picture of the key needed to replace/remove tires? Any help would be majorly appreciated.

Call McGard. They will ask you to email me a picture of the wheel lock. Then identify which key is needed and $30 later you got a new lock.

Hey my brother, before you do that; look in the frunk for the "locking lug socket", possibly in the tool kit. I'm sure it's somewhere in the car.

BTW, this is what he was looking for; http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=P&Product_Code =996361XXX02&Category_Code=POTEBXWH

Would it be attached to the spare tire? I won't be seeing my Box until Monday, since I'm out of town ATM. I'm just tryin to figure all of this out before I go and get something.

The tool kit is in a foam tray inside the spare tire. You'll have to take the spare out to access it. It may be in the pocket of the spare tire cover, too.

It could also be in the lug wrench socket, inside the aforementioned tool kit. It fits snugly into the normal lug socket by means of an 'o' ring. Lots of people, including me, leave it in the socket to keep it from getting lost.

Awesome, it's in there. I'm not sure if it's the right one though, since it doesn't seem to fit with anything. Is that normal? Sorry for the newbie questions.

Immortal, check your lug nuts on your tires. One of them should be different, that's the one the key should fit on. You may have to rotate it until it lines up correctly.

Checked it, fixed it and now I have new wheelcaps and feel extremely happy over it. Thanks to everyone who helped me out, you guys rock!

You know, just for future reference, you do not need to remove the wheels to change center caps.

These have their own 'key' which goes through the two small holes in the caps and allows you to remove them.
