Antifreeze Smell and Vapor in Cabin

I have a 1998 Boxster/Manual/ with 107K for miles. I was wondering if anyone has experienced:

1. A vapor/antifreeze smell coming from inside car
2. I have to turn the thermostat down to 66 degrees before the A/C feel cool
3. A bit of a belt squeak from the engine compartment

Kind of sounds like a thermostat and water pump but I cant explain the vapor/ant-freeze smell coming from the vent.

Any help would be appreciated.

3 separate items.

Leaky hose (notorious item on Porsches which use spring clamps - always replace with worm clamps, aka screw type), Leaking heater core (Heat Exchanger in Porsche lingo) - replace, or cracked coolant reservoir - replace. In that order.

AC... cracked hose or bad 'o' ring - replace and recharge system.

Squeak... replace polyrib belt, belt tensioners and/or waterpump.

Thanks for your quick reply now I will get an estimate on those items. The vapor and anti-freeze smell is coming from the heating/ac vents is the heater core in the front of the car?

Yep...

AC issue could also be a cracked or punctured condensor... have the system pressure/leak tested.

I just changed my heater core. There are 2 hoses that feed it behind the battery. A new one is pricey, I got one from a wrecker that is like new with warranttee on the auction site.
