Help?! Headlight Wiring problem...
 

Im still trying to wrap my head around this one, but apparently my passenger headlight is completely out due to 2 broken parts. The mounting bracket (Big thing the headlight slides into that holds the connecting plug for the wires broke and somehow the blue plug that all the wires clip into has broke also... therefore

I have the 2 new parts and have already installed the new mounting bracket but im bamboozled when it comes to the little blue connection plug that the wires from the harness connect into that is held by the back of the mounting bracket.

I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the wires to come out of the old plug so i can switch the plugs... I was hoping to get it done this weekend since im off of work.

Any help? Im not in the mood to spend $130 at the local stealership to have some guy hit a little secret switch and switch out the plugs in 30 seconds. It would defeat the entire purpose of working on the car myself.

If need be I can include a picture if Im not making any sense.

Have you tried pushing the wires further into the plug? On many plugs doing this will expose the pins which are crimped onto the end of each wire. The pins only come out by pushing the wires further into the plug. Take a look inside the plug and see if this might be the case.

ETA, if you have a picture please post it as this may help.

Picture please, but it sounds like you need a pin extraction tool.

Pins can be removed from the wire side of the plug if you have the correct sized extraction tool. You slide it over the pin and pull the wire and pin out of the plug.

I believe you can see from the pictures exactly what part I am speaking of. I believe that you might be correct on the pin extraction tool except I have one problem as shown from one of the pictures.

The side the wires slide into, In the holes themselves there seems to be a plugging material / compound adhesive around the wire because the holes are 3x the size of the wires. The next question is what to do about that and can I get a pin extraction tool at a local Pep Boys / Advanced Auto Parts / Etc. ??

Headlight wiring
 

I had a body shop break one of my connector brackets. I simply reach in as I am sliding the headlight assembly into place and plug in the connector by hand. It is firmly in place and does not fall out... so why bother with the bracket?

Haha.. I just decided to replace everything. My main problem is that I need to change the connectors because they themselves are broken, and I would like to not have to keep reconnecting them every few days or jury rig something to keep them together.

Solution??
