Is this a 'quick' shifter?....

I got the Carnewal 'Horseshoe' trim and leather boot to give this area of the console a little life, but since my wife was sort-of complaining that this car was hard-shifter compared to the others she remembered - I thought maybe the switch has already been done?!

When I saw the Blue internals: I figured Porsche wouldn't bother to color this bit. ...but then I knew, you'd know; which was which..

Also, maybe you can tell me where the setscrew for the knob is? I can't see one - unless it's buried under the 6-speed cap.

Jim - looks like the B&M Short-shifter to me. The stock one is not that color.

What do you mean by the setscrew - the screw that holds the shift knob tight against the stalk? If so, pull the leather up so that it's inverted over the shift knob (even higher than what's in the photo) and look at the front of the knob. The screw should be pointing towards the radio.

That is a B&M with the standard shift knob. No set screw on the standard knob - only the optional ones.

If you bought the boot with the silver horseshoe then you are going to have fun to figure out how to use it with the standard shift knob, without cutting off the boot from the standard knob.

What you bought is designed to be used with one of the optional knobs.

Mile grazie! I knew it wouldn't take more than 90sec. to get an answer. Can anyone remember doing ANYTHING before the intrernet?! ...'love it!

Zo! Now I need to get a regglar shifter from one of you'ze that have made the switch.... (I like my wife well enough to trim back the testosterone..)

Maybe we could wrangle a decent trade. I'm about ready to pop a few items for the Boxster (I make protective products for airplanes) and front/back mats in a variety of materials/colors are part of the mix. (this one get's back into the little corners too..)

We use all sorts of cloth, from Black Ballistic nylon to things like Zebra and Leopard in very high quality, upholstery fabrics. Diamond grid like this or circular or straight box quilting. ...whatever!

....and since cutting is about the first thing we do here; I think I know how I might make the mod using the standard knob. I'll share in pics when done.

Thanks again!
