Where to Buy.....
 

So most of you know I just received my 3.4 and I need to do the upgraded clutch. Does anyone know where to get the sachs upgraded clutch for a 2.5? I looked at many websites and no one lists it. Also I will be selling my stock clutch which I just did about 400 miles ago. If anyone is interested in that let me know. Send me a private message. I am open to any offers on that.

If you want an upgraded clutch just use the 5 speed 987 parts. This will give you enough clamping force for the 3.4.

Will this fit a 2000 Boxster S flywheel? Do the 5 speed 987 clutch parts have more torque capacity than a stock 3.2L clutch? My car will need a clutch pretty soon - the pedal is heavy and the engagement point is kinda high - and I really don't want to buy a new $900 flywheel.

would the 987 S clutch work for the 6spd then ?

No personal experience with this, but the 987 6 speed and 986 6 speed share the same flywheel and other parts so I'm pretty sure the 987 6 speed parts will work on the 986. The 986 6 speed and the 996 use the same pressure plate, so there is the potential to mix and match items from the 996/997 to get more clamping force to deal with higher outputs as well.

The only real limitation is in the Boxster/Cayman model range, 5 speed and 6 speed clutch components (outside of the flywheel) cannot be interchanged.
