OBC questions.

I know that this is an old subject to many of you and I have searched old posts to try and find the information that I require.
My car is a 99 poverty spec, no air con etc, I believe the obc can be activated by the PST2 to show outside temp only and then after installing a switch or stalk I could then scroll through all other options,my problem is that I do not have a sensor fitted in the front grill(is that where it is?) I have been told by my local Porsche specialist that he has activated obc's before but was a bit vague on the sensors position,he was quite willing to do the full job, but if it can be done I would rather have him just activate the obc and I fit switch wires etc myself(and save some cash!)
My question is,will the temp show after activation or is this hack not possible on my car ?

Thanks for your time.

The outside temp sensor plugs in behind the fresh-air/recirculation valve. Without the AC unit, you're not likely to have the recepticle (though this is somewhat unclear in the manual, especially for ROW models).

If you have an electrical connector for the outside temperature sensor present, then you could install the sensor through the grill (all RH grills have the holder for the sensor).

You can still have the OBC activated and it will likely work minus the outside temperature function whether you install the control stalk or a switch.

Thanks Lil b I will probably have the obc activated and see what happens, as you say it will likely work minus the outside temp function with the switch or stalk anyway.
