new seats

Does anyone know if the new 987 seats fit in the 986?

I like the seats better - but realize they might be a little more square at the top and not match up with the shape of the rollbar behind too closely... but I'm still curious.

I have wondered this myself because I like the 987 seats more than 986.

I do not know anyone who has tried the swap. Find a 987 owner and come to a work on cars day and we will try to swap a seat. I would have to think about what if anything to do with the air bag on the 987 seat.

987 Seats in a 986

Has anyone figured out the answer to this question? Do 987 seats fit in a 986, and what to do with the airbag. Is it possible to enable the airbag?

Thanks for the reply Jeph. I assume you mean they will not directly bolt in. Any idea if it would be an easy custom installation?
