Oil capacity

I just bought a used 98 boxster from a dealer and now has 28000 miles so I think I am due for oil change. How much oil does the car hold with a filter. I dont have a owner or service manual so I have no idea. Should go ahead and do a 30K or does it not need it.

I believe your engine, the 2.5L model, holds 8.25 L (8.72 qts). this includes the filter.

2.5 Specs

Hey Jorge, how about a link for 2.5L specs? You have links for the others, so how about it?

Porsche issued a TSB which increased the oil filling capacity. It is now 9 quarts w/o filter, and 9.25 quarts w/filter. Jeff

I have a 98 / 2.5 car (if you need more things about the manteinnance book, donīt hesitate to contact with me.

The book say:

This is an old one that came back to life.

Porsche issued a bulletin on 4/23/99 stating the the oil capacity was increased retroactively. So if you are looking at an older owners manual......
