298,000 miles! My 2002 has 146,000 miles, but that is less than half of 298K. Wow!

62k miles on the original water pump… you may want to consider replace it before it fails (with potentially expensive collateral damage)

The O2 pumps are considered a wear item and I believe that Porsche recommends it changing it around 40k miles (?)

My car has 99k and is already on it's third pump

@Gilles ... yeah I did specifically ask my garage to check and replace the pump when they did the AOS, same for the motor mount. They said they were both fine. It's pretty hard to argue with a guy who's been a Porsche tech for 40 years that some people I've never met on the internet insist it should be changed! :)

205,000 miles.

I bought my current Boxster with a blown engine at 205K miles. I swapped in the engine from my other Boxster and turned it into my race car. Three more engines later, I'm still driving it. The chassis probably has around 250,000 miles or so.

This all really depends on how you maintain and how you drive it while its in pain. Here I think the longest life we've seen for a Boxster 986 (the'r all dead now btw) is little over 150k miles. Gives you an idea of what this little car is able to endure with practically zero maintenance ;)

That's right, here we buy car > beat/burn them > and buy new again! Repeating that same process all over again. We believe that maintenance is a waste of money lolllll (I know, don't ask!)

I'm the fifth owner, closing in on 175k on the original motor.

2002 Base
140K
Still running strong and I am replacing all of the usual suspects as I go along
New IMS bearing upgrade and clutch at time of purchase
(water pump, AOS, plugs, MAF, coolant tank, and suspension refresh is next)
I plan on driving it as long as I possibly can
some days I keep my fingers crossed it's not going to blow up and other days I feel like as long as I keep up the maintenance, it will run forever
As I heard somewhere, "If you wanted it easy, you wouldn't have bought a Porsche"

2000 Box S 187000 miles. She's been a serious autocross car since 2008. Original IMS. I've had to rebuild trans due. To pop-out issues. Otherwise, the 986 has been very reliable

Yesterday I talked to a 996 owner who said his Porsche passed 300K on the original engine. He also confessed that he rolled back the miles to 200K.

I don't know whether to to be happy that our cars can reach 300k miles :D or mad that there are Porsches out there with tampered miles

The more expensive the car. The more likely miles were tempered with. I bet very few GT3s have accurate miles. There is a strong incentive to drive the car and also a strong one to display low miles as depreciation can be steep once you hit a certain mile mark. I'm sure plenty have 25k miles but are roller back to 6k or so.
