Tool Pants I (along with many others I"m sure) are VERY interested to find out if you can pass CA SMOG with the RoW program.

Okay, you can find them at ANY auto parts store, but you have to get 2 per sensor. One of them has to be drilled out and screwed into the other so that there is enough length for the O2 sensor to fit. After that it's all pretty much plug-n-play.

With all this talk of "cat bypass pipes" I visited the www.fabspeed.com web site. $495 for a pair of pipes? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to have a local muffler shop fabricate a pair for my car? Any draw backs with the custom fabrication route?

You can DO anything you want

You could have a set fabricated by a local guy, but is he going to use mandrel bends and flow test everything for max gains? Probably not and if he did, it would be HELLA more money for a custom on off peice like that.:)

Exactly. $500 for those pipes isn't cheap, but they are done properly. Don't get me wrong, FabSpeed makes money, but they also have a good bit invested in the equipment to do things right.

Also, keep in mind, that even if your local muffler shop fabbed up a set for you, they would likely not be stainless, but cheap aluminized pipe.
