Poor Performance After Battery Change

Poor Performance After Battery Change

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My battery died on me on Friday & it was acouple of days before I could get a replacement so the car had no battery at all for maybe 3 days.

When I got the new one in & started her up, she was misfiring & coughing like hell. Even after she warmed up she was still nunning rought until I took her to 7K & then all seemed back to normal, so I fugured it was some sort of computer restet or something.

I haven't driven her again until today & there is a flat spot at 3.6K and she just seems to not pull as well. In addition the engine seems to run on a bit. By that I mean when you change gears the revs don't drop back as fast as normal. Its a 2.7 Egas with the electronic throttle, not the cable.

Any idea's guys?

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Its most likey that your ECU reset itself and is now back in its "learning" stage.

Drive it for 50-100 miles and it should be back to normal.

Also you need to reset the eGas.

With nothing touching the gas pedal, turn the ignition switch on (don't start the car).

Let it sit that way without touching the gas pedal for more than a minute (you will hear the throttle motor run).

Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds. Enjoy as usual.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have reset the Egas a s suggested & driven now for over 180kms in a lively fashion, ie taking up to 7k on numerous occasions, & still the same issues remain.

Not sure what else to do.

it sounds like your MAF may be going bad. try unplugging it & go for a drive. if the drivability issues go away, you have found your problem.
