Actual Values Durametric
I am wondering if there exists a comprehensive list of the acceptable range for the actual values that the durametric would measure for a '02 base Boxster.

The information your looking for should be found at your local dealer. The service department will have those parameters. All a service tech has to do is pull that info out of the data base, be it a manual or software. The trick is getting them to do it.

My limited experience with the dealer ( one visit) says that they probably will not be helpful.
I have searched a lot on this forum and Renntech and found bits and pieces but not a comprehensive list. My other thought would be the service manaual from Bently but I don't own one yet and just don't know if that will bear fruit. If anyone that owns the service manual knows I would appreciate any feedback. thanks |

I was just there. Go to Manuals, 986 and down load the General info. It's a tech manual from 1998 on a base Boxster. The info you're probably looking for (+/- numbers) isn't in there but the specifications are. It's good info.

I want to thank you all for your inputs and suggestions.
I do not have a specific problem I am just trying to learn as much as I can about the car. A number of years ago I owned a 912 that I drove many enjoyable miles. About 2 months ago I purchased the '02 Boxster that I am now also enjoying. I have been regularly reading this forum that is full of very good information on the boxster. I have also been monitoring the Renntech forum and technical pages. I have downloaded the service manuals and am in the process of reading them. I have purchased a durametric and felt that it would be very useful if there was a comprehensive list of the actual values with their acceptable ranges in case of a future need. I have seen many useful threads where members have given some of these values and thought there might be a single source. I have also contacted durametric support asking the same question and they do not have this information. I may record the present values from my car while I am not having problems so that they can be used a a later date if necessary. thanks again |

Here's something that I've been doing, and you can do the same -- at least you will have some nominal values to compare to when something goes wrong. Regards, paul... |
