Autocross alignment recomendations
Anyone have alignment recomendations for an autocross 987? I am not worried about excessive street tire wear or high-speed instability.
Thanks, Alan |
What level of autocross are you doing (local PCA, Local SCCA, National SCCA)?
I am using factory alignment settings, I've got the stock 17" wheels wrapped in PS2's on my 986, stock suspension. I drive this car daily in a "spirited" fashion most of the time and autox it 9-12 a year with the local PCA and another local (non SCCA) club. |
Maximum negative front camber, zero toe. Minimum negative rear camber with zero toe. Now go drive, and I really hope you don't have PSM.

I'll be in a '08 base 987 with PASM and Sport Chrono (so therefore defeatable PSM - John) I'll be on 18" wheels (stock widths are 8" and 9"). I plan on running Hoosier A6, 275 fronts and either 275/35, 285/30 or 295/30 rears. I have a set of 5mm spacers. Any opinions on tires? (Please don't tell me that these are too wide for the wheels, I already know they are not ideal but will mount and fit in the wheel wells.) The stock 265/40s give me 71mph at redline in 2nd. The 275s will give me 69, the 285s 66.6 and the 295s 67.3 Regards, Alan |

If I had your car, I'd be running the 295 Hoosiers front and rear. Most people seem to like them better than the 285s. Hope to see the car out at some events next year. |
