Need Help With Top Transmission Mount On The Convertible

Would like to know if anyone has ever had thesame problem. I own a 1997 boxster with about 28000 miles ,just had my transmission(convertible transmission) updated with the new system.Cables, drive arms, time top. Still the top doesn't close properly.Mounting points for transmission on vehicle sheet metal keep bending causing drive arms to rub lightly on transmission drive arms. I have been told to got to a bod yshop to get mounting areas reinforce.ANYONE WITH SOME IDEAS? look's like the arms are not strong enough.THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE

This is a problem with 1997s. The mounting studs for the transmission go into sheet metal which flexes. I once saw a car where the transmission was on an angle because the sheet metal was bent. I could not even get to the top nuts to remove the transmission because the sheet metal was so bent.

My local dealership mechanics send the car out to a body shop to have the mounting area reinforced. I have never see the work done so I do not know how it is done.

If you have this done then see if you can take some pictures.
