Aftermarket wheel offset????????

Hey guys,

My name's Matt. I don't own a Porsche 986S but my cousin does and he's not very familiar with online forum and how it works so I am posting for him.

He owns an '02 Boxster S and is in the market for a set of rims. His budget is no more than 1,500 for just rims.

I done some research and the bolt pattern is 5x130 but I would like to know the offset to give it a nice flush look.

He is looking for 5 spoke 19" rims. Silver center with chrome lip or polished lip (He prefers chrome).

Can someone please be so kindly let me know what kind of rims are available for the Boxster S? As well as the offset?

He is also looking for an exhaust to give it a deeper/louder tone. What's the best exhaust available??

Thanks in advance,
Matt

BTW, this is my car.

Porsche did not have 19" wheels for the 986, but came out with 19" wheels for the 987. So you have to go aftermarket or 987.

You can get a start here.

I can get your cousin a deal on a set of these....

I'm partial to these. SSR GT3 or otherwise known as SSR GT3 Werfen-
I have 18s, but they do make them in 19. Keep in mind, however, that the pre2005 models were not recommended by Porsche to install 19s. If he does get the 19s, because of the width of the wheel, he'd also have to use a zip tie to tie off the parking brake line from the rear wheel, as if you don't, it will rub against the tire.

My wheels specs:
Fronts 18x8 5-130 ET49
Rears 18x9.5 5-130 ET43
With these specs, no need for spacers...

You can probably find them used at the price range you quoted, or
you can get em new here: http://www.more-japan.com/SSR_GT3.php

I'm really glad that I decided against the 19" wheels now. Plus I found that any decent tire (and by decent I mean barely makes SCCA STO class standards) that I wanted to buy didn't com in anything bigger than 18"

I just found some SSR GT3 wheels for sale. They are all 18x8, not staggered. The offset is ET49 on all of them.

Do you know if these will fit a 99 Boxster? The owner thinks they will fit newer Boxsters, but not a 1999...

Are you sure those are made for Porsche fitment? SSR made those wheels in non Porsche application too (ie. Nissan/BMW), so you should double check. Porsche wheels are normally staggered from front to back, with the wider wheel in the back.

Also, make sure the bolt pattern is 5-130.

Not sure if they were made for Porsches or not. The guy has them advertised as for a Boxster. I figured that since they are 8" wide, they would work. The bolt pattern is 5x130. Thanks.

No prob. It might fit, but I'm not sure you'd like the look or handling of all 4 wheels the same size. If you notice in my pic in a previous post, the wider rears have a fat lip, whereas the front wheels have a smaller lip. My fronts are 8in with a 49 offset so it seems you have located two sets of fronts.
