996 Turbo brakes on a Boxster S

Calling all Boxster Experts. Can anybody tell me if a set of Big Red Brakes that were OEM on a 2001 996 Turbo will fit onto a 2000 Boxster S ?? we think the rotor diameter is 328 mm

I appreciate any help.

Thanks

Are you talking Calipers, Rotors or both? Because its a Porsche and they over engineer everything, my first guess is that they do not "bolt on" without some additional work.

It won't fit unless you get new mounting brackets for the calipers. The mounting points are not the same. You'll probably have to have some custom fabbed.

They will with quite a bit of work, don't know off the top of my head... but the mounting points are different for sure... but why? just adding big red's up front will really upset the boxster's brake balance.. which could in 986S form use a touch more rear bias as it is........

Big Red Brake swap

Hello. and thank you very much to everybody who helped me out with this one, it was an opportunity to get a full set of gently used front + rear brakes from a 996 Turbo for not a huge ammount of $$. Oh well sometimes luck is not with you.

I could just swear that someone sells a kit to do this... It's not a direct bolt-on, but with a modified mount it may not be that bad. You might want to do a search on Renntech in the 996 section. The 2000 996 Carrera should have the same front brakes as your Boxster S. They may have an adapter kit for the 996 and just not push it for the Boxster.

Hmmm.... I can't exactly find it. I found that there are kits readily available to convert the Turbo Big Red Brakes to older 911's, but I didn't see anything on the Boxster. Now of course there are big brake kits for the Boxster from Brembo, and I suspect these are just the Turbo brakes with the required adapter....
