I think my brake pads need replacement, but i was wondering if anyone has ever used an after market brake pad and also if they make noises

Lots of us have aftermarket pads. To name a few, Pagid, Porterfield, and Mintex all make pads for your Boxster. I use Pagid Blue and they stop very well at the expense of dust and some squeal. Had my car at RUF last week and they commented about how good the brakes felt compared to OEM. Brake pads have been discussed extensively; use the forum search feature.
