new accessory belt too tight?

I bought a new belt and 2 new rollers as mine were noisy. The bearings were shot no doubt about it. After installing them, the noise actually increased! The belt was incredibly tight. I put the old belt back on and it the noise went back down. I didn't have that problem a few years back when I replaced it at 60k miles. My car is now 120k.

Has anyone experienced new belts being too tight? I might go use a different manufacturer now.

What type of belt did you buy?

original porsche part

I bought it from the dealer, and it was an original porsche part.

But which original Porsche part?

What is the PN# for your belt? Check the belt or invoice.

There are two different belts, depending upon whether you have the M573 option - Air Conditioning or not.

Sounds to me like the Dealer gave you PN# 996.102.151.65 (non-AC belt, shorter), while you should have 996.102.151.64 (for AC, longer).

If you can measure the belt, you're looking for approx. 2,044-45mm or 80.5".
