What do you guys mean by single canister? I was thinking of getting the Fabspeed system but don't want and drone.

If you go to

http://fabspeed.com/Boxster.html

and download their PRODUCT VIDEO:

http://fabspeed.com/videos/Boxster%20986%20Maxflo%20Muffler%20Explanation%20V ideo.wmv

it shows the old single canister setup.

Thanks. But I've seen the video several times. When you refer to canisters are you refering to the Cats? Are you saying that when they replace the secondary Cats with the resonators you get drone? The video on the Fabspeed site is the same video they had last year. So what is new or has changed with their system?

The FabSpeed system I have is the "older" version, which used a single rear muffler, while the "newer" system which is "still in the works" uses a dual canister muffler with a crossover pipe- a la the 987 system. Both of these delete the secondary cats.

FabSpeed needs to update the page, but I'm told this should be available in a few weeks, and they told me they'd cut me a great deal on the new system so I may try it out. I am really sick of the resonance of their older system.

Thanks Patrick. Now I understand. In Fabspeeds old video they claim that there is absolutely no resonance with their system. Did you do the old deal? Sport headers & Cats, pipes with resonators, and the one canister muffler? That's a lot of money! Was it worth it?

I have stock headers, and the "old" system with the resonated midpipes and the single rear canister. Hate to call the nice guys at FabSpeed liars, but this system has a good bit of resonance. Like I said, we'll see if I wind up with their new system or not.

Patrick, one thing you have to consider before being to hard on the Fabspeed guys is that the system may not be drone/resonance free without the $2,265 Header/Sport Cats. The exhaust flow, pressure, ... is diferent without them and that's why you have the drone. When Fabspeed tuned the system and tunes out the drone they did it using their complete system.

I'm still debating whether it's worth it to spend $3,760 + for the complete exhaust system. Seems expensive dollars per HP gain. No? They claim +34 HP but with the complete exhaust system, CAI, and Chip re-program. The CAI and Chip add another $1,000 to the cost. So were talkin almost $5,000 for 34 HP gain.
