Airbag Strips
Anyone know how to remove the airbag strips in the dash? Do they just slide out? Thanks. Doing some painting today.

Thanks. You are the man. Unfortunately, removing those strips looks like a pain in the butt. Time to get out my soldering iron....

What color interior do you have???
Scott |
All black. Going to body colored (gurards red) trim. So far it looks awesome. just a few pieces to go....

I have shot the strips after masking them, it turned out well [artic silver].
I will not rip my car apart -she would be mad at me. Scott |
Well, I'm lucky in that I KNOW that I'm one clumsy bastard, so I can choose my endeavors accordingly. Masking/shooting in the car would be a BAD idea for me. It's barely two and i'm already covered in primer.

Maybe I should explain shooting, actually brushed on sorry - for that part. Just TSP and brush. I did not use primer and it turned out well. No problems and it's been 3-6 months.
Just patience... It looks pretty good when your done. Send me an e mail I will send you a pic half way through. Scott |
already got the new ones at the dealer, so i can spray them with the rest of the parts. only ten bucks for the set; go figure. the old strips came out no problem. No soldering iron required. just pried them out starting near where the radio would be mounted and worked my way out. the screws pressed back throught the dashboard with no trouble.
