MY 911 wheel fitment?

Hi, just a little help needed. Will a set of Carrera wheels off a 02 MY 911 fit my 97 boxster without problems? I am looking for a quick answer and this forum seems to be best! Some say yes and some say no it won't work.

The wheels are sized 18x8 ET 50 and 18x10 ET 65 with 225/40ZR18 and 285/35ZR18

Thanks

The front seem fine but the rears may require a small spacer. no big deal as porsche is offering spacers on their MY2008 now as options. If its good for them, its goiod for us. Ask member DJOLMAS. He just stuffed pretty nice 18z in his that are thick. I am putting 19z on my 1999.

If by "small spacer" you mean around 17mm to 20mm of spacer, than sure ;)

You need anywhere from 40 to 47 mm of offset on a 10" wide rear on a 986.

For the '97 and early '98 MY Boxsters, Porsche does not recommend the use of 18" wheels, in fact, they caution against it.

The MY '98 cars onward were redesigned with additional uni-body reinforcement to specifically handle the additional stresses of 18" and larger wheels.

There are several members running 18's and larger on the early cars and they report no issues at all. So you decide.

Just thought you ought to know.

Thanks Lil'B but I am also one of the few 97 owners running 18's for the past 11 years without problems. I had the Kineses 18's custom ordered and put on when the car rolled out of the delaership. I only use the 17's when the weahter turns foul around here.
